Spoiler Summary/Synopsis:

Aya angers Tsukasa by raising the prospect that Himari is the classic, childhood friend romantic trope. Tsukasa responds by pointing out that Himari has a boyfriend (Asimo), thus she wouldn’t be interested in Nasa. Aya counters by stating it is Nasa who’d be interested in the super cute gyaru, Himari. This triggers Tsukasa, who doesn’t very confidently retort that Nasa has a cute wife already.

Aya presses her attack, stating that the fight for Nasa’s affections has begun. Thus Tsukasa MUST make Nasa see how amazingly cute she is. To that end, Aya insists Tsukasa do what it takes, including cosplay. Tsukasa scoffs at the notion that she’s losing some battle to Himari, citing she knows how much Nasa loves her.

When Aya leaves, her words cause Tsukasa to check herself out in a hand mirror. Nasa catches her and asks why she’s making cute faces in the mirror. Though embarrassed, Tsukasa is happy Nasa called her cute.

Thoughts/Review:

Just some tide over fluff in Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 244. I can’t help but like how Aya is a troll character to push Tsukasa’s buttons. Still, I wonder if Hata-sensei sent shots at folks like me with this chapter. At one point, I was convinced we would get some tedious, romantic entanglement rubbish for the sake of comedy. It wasn’t that I doubted that Nasa and Tsukasa would remain true, but I could see where Hata-sensei might go. Thankfully, he didn’t. And I think this chapter is Hata-sensei’s way of teasing the audience members who took the red herring bait. 😅

As an aside, I don’t know the Jujutsu Kaisen series. I’ve heard of it, but with as busy as I am, I haven’t looked into it at all. That said, Hata-sensei must be into it ’cause that’s what Aya referenced when Tsukasa’s anger levels reached their peak.

Final Thoughts and Conclusion

In the end, Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 244 is a fun, fluff chapter where we see Aya tweaking Tsukasa.
